On April 9th, Dr. Emma Goldberg and Emma Allen, ALL ALS outreach team members, as well as Penn State Health ALL ALS staff, attended ALS United Mid-Atlantic’s Help & Hope Symposium. At the event, the outreach team staffed a table, which allowed them to have many meaningful conversations about research with ALS community members and ongoing ALL ALS participants, while Penn State Health staff were afforded the opportunity to spend quality time with some of their ALL ALS participants and clinic patients.
In addition, the ALL ALS team members attended informative and thought-provoking presentations and panels on a variety of interesting topics, including genomic medicine, collaborative neurology research, and the use of voice banking and AI avatars for the ALS community.
Overall, ALL ALS was able to strengthen their relationship with the Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey ALS communities, as well as the ALS United Mid-Atlantic organization, at the Symposium, and the staff in attendance were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend a day with people dedicated to making chance in the ALS field.
