ALL ALS Consortium Retreat

From November 4th – 6th, the ALL ALS Consortium held a working retreat for its West and East Coast Coordination Center team members in Boston, MA. The retreat provided the consortium staff with an opportunity to reflect on ALL ALS’s origins, progress, and processes, as well as plan for the consortium’s future.

One major highlight from the event was the celebration of a significant ALL ALS milestone: enrolling more than 1,000 participants nationwide into the program. This achievement showcases the incredible dedication of our consortium and site team members, the generous support of our organizational and clinic partners, and the steadfast commitment of our many ALL ALS participants.

Throughout the gathering, valuable discussions about upcoming study milestones, recruitment initiatives, and management procedures were carried out across inter-disciplinary teams. These discussions included hands-on brainstorming sessions on how to efficiently improve participant resources, strengthen operations, and spread study awareness. Important updates were shared, including the successful launch of the ALS Knowledge Portal.

The retreat concluded with a team building activity, in which staff members painted their own versions of Starry Night and engaged in valuable team bonding. At the conclusion of the meeting, consortium staff left with a renewed focus. As we proceed into another year of recruitment and discovery, ALL ALS will continue putting in the work to advance research and bring us closer to a future without ALS.
