2025 NEALS Annual Meeting

From October 6th-10th, ALL ALS staff attended the annual NEALS Meeting in Clearwater, FL. The NEALS Consortium is an academic research organization that acts as a critical resource, providing education, guidance, training, and support to their ALS-affiliated partners and the research community. The NEALS Meeting brings together researchers, clinicians, industry partners, and ALS community members to share information, offer educational sessions, and build collaborations, all in an effort to advance ALS research, drug development, and clinical care.

At this year’s meeting, ALL ALS staff had the opportunity to learn about pivotal new research developments, strengthen ALL ALS Consortium partnerships, and connect with people living with ALS and community advocates. Many ALL ALS staff members led presentations, participated in panels, presented research posters, and authored abstracts published in the Muscle & Nerve journal (volume 72, issue S1). Through these avenues, much information about ALL ALS was shared, including general study updates, ongoing collaborative efforts, and innovative research methodology.

Overall, although much was gained from attending the NEALS meeting, the major takeaway for many ALL ALS staff members was hope- hope that with hard work and continued dedication, research can make a future without ALS a reality.
